With a certain sense of inevitability, the news comes through that my latest hopes of a perfect role have been dashed … at the eleventh hour (so to speak).
It seems, I wasn’t the best man (or woman) for the job.
Still, “Nil illegitimiaeum carborundum” as the Romans used to say. Therefore I have already made online applications for six new jobs, plus put out feelers on a more unofficial basis.
I’ve been here before. Night follows day follows night. The only real enemies here are despair and despondency, not made any better by the prospect of spring storms all this week.
